I am a Senior Lecturer at Leeds Beckett University in the Carnegie Faculty.
My experience ranges from teaching and training in the further education sector, private training organisations, and the retail sector, working with young people and adults on a range of provision from entry level to postgraduate degree level. I am a Fellow of the Institute for Learning and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. My main areas of teaching lie within education studies, teacher education, professional development and practice.
My research interests are eclectic, ranging from professional knowledge and practice, work based learning, philosophy of education, political philosophy, action research and technology in education.
My own professional values are based around a clear ethos of student first and foremost. I work within the professional standards for teachers and trainers in the lifelong learning sector and the UK Professional Standards Framework, and as such am committed to the values underpinning access to and engagement in further, higher and adult education.
